What is the a Innovation Lab?
Innovation Lab is a collaborative, shared workspace where students can get hands-on experience creating anything they can imagine with the
tools and materials available to them. Our Innovation Lab features technology
like 3D printers, circuit boards, CNC machines, laser cutters and robotics.
The Innovation Lab at South Miami Senior High is also a creative, problem-solving space where ideas take physical shape. The Innovation Lab is equipped with high-precision industrial tools that make it easy to produce an accurate prototype, model or replica of virtually any object, using a wide range of materials and computer-aided design (CAD) software
Collaboration and experimentation are key to innovation at the Innovation Lab, where students are encouraged to work with peers in order to identify problems and search for solutions from various perspectives
From 3D printing to textile crafting, the Innovation Lab provides South Miami students with hands-on access to tools and environments that foster interdisciplinary collaboration and discovery.
